This is the BEST Mexican food restaurant I've ever been to!! The food was incredible and it came out super fast! The prices are VERY reasonable. The ladies that work there are the sweetest people I've ever met. Best customer service I've ever received. It's also a family owned business so you know you're getting quality food. I recommend Tio Juan's 100% !!

Unexpected gem in small town of Platteville. Happened to be driving by was unaware of the gem of it had not been for Google map. To my surprise the restaurant is larger than expected, menu quite diverse and many options in various price ranges. The prices were maybe a tad higher than I expected however it's worth it. The nice lady that provides service was quite amicable and professional. I opted for coffee which was fresh and delicious nothing fancy but fresh. The only downside there was no regular sugar on table. I ordered a molcajete. Usually my go to when I'm hungry. They brought complimentary chip and salsa and bean dip which was delicious and perfectly portioned. When the molcajete arrived it seemed a bit smaller than I expected , however it was good enough portion and I'm a big eater even though eating bit less it would suffice for majority of customers. As soon as tasted the first pieces of meats from molcajete I was surprised. The sauce was hardly present which tends to be a big thing with molcajete, however what it lacked in size and sauce it made up for in deliciousness in well cooked meats seasoned perfectly. The molcajete had streak , chicken, shrimp and to my surprise carnitas. I which it would had a little bit more steak but to my surprise the carnitas were quite delicious at the bottom along with nopales or cactus. Usually don't see many molcajete with carnitas but these were a nice surprise as they were quite flavorful so it was great. I would definitely recommend it , I'll probably stop by try other dishes when I get a chance. Just fyi, read some reviews, this is more homestyle as opposed to restaurant style cuisine the flavors may not be what many are accustomed , yet it is quite more enjoyable and hard to find in a restaurant setting.

Tio Juan’s is our absolute favorite place to eat! Their food is delicious and their drinks are unique and delicious. The service is always wonderful, everyone is so kind and helpful. We live 45 minutes away and will gladly make the drive to eat here as often as we can!

We have been here many times. On our visit yesterday I ordered three soft tacos. I was served three tortillas laid on a plate overlapping each other and all the fillings down the center making it just one huge mess. Couldn't pickup and eat like a taco, tired cutting it with a knife and fork; it just turned into a big sloppy inedible pile of goo. I complained to our waitress twice and sent my plate back barely eaten. She said she couldn't do anything because she was just the server. Really! They didn't offer to re-make the tacos or apologize and charged me full price. We won't be back.

Excellent value. Food and service are good, prices are very fair. Tonight I ordered the Fajitas Tropicanas with shrimp, carne asada and chicken. It came with rice and beans and guac for 13.95 and it was delicious. Servers were on their toes and treated us great even though we showed up 20 minutes before closing. There was a large group that showed up at closing while we were there and they gladly accommodated them. The margarita was great, I wish I had room for more!

Excellent little place to pick up some delicious food. I tried the carne esada and was very impressed. Large portions, delicious tortillas and if you like it hot then order a roasted jalapeño and enjoy! Will definitely be stopping back inn here next time I'm in the area.
